Job Description:

| Deskside Support Technician. Good knowledge of IT with good experience in providing PC deskside support including configuration and problem solving in the following areas. Windows 98, 2000 and XP operating systems. Basic PC connectivity, including dial up, broadband, VPN and wireless. Microsoft Office Suite. Anti virus software eg Norton, Mcafee, Trend. Carry out backup tape changes and restores. Use of remote access and software distribution tools eg Tivoli, remote access, SMS. Basic desktop/laptop hardware knowledge and the ability to change components such as hard disk drives and network cards. Basic printer troubleshooting and user level maintenance. Network cable connectivity and patching. |
