Job Description:

Our FTSE 100 Global client requires a Storage and Back-up Specialist to join their team.
Responsibilities:
-Storage & Backup
-DC based SAN data storage (NetApp & HP), backup & recovery
-Location based NAS/SAN data storage, backup & recovery
-Health Monitoring & reporting
-Tuning
-Resource capacity monitoring/mgmt
-Maintenance (fixes, patches etc)
-Configuration mgmt & documentation
-Reactive Support in response to:
Alerts/warnings/errors
Calls from help desk
Calls/escalations from regional support or case management
Essential:
-Thorough knowledge of & experience in providing storage through the mechanisms of SAN/NAS.
-Demonstrable experience of managing medium to large SAN/NAS environments including:
storage allocation & presentation to servers
performance monitoring & trouble shooting
Capacity monitoring & proactive planning of upgrades
-Experience based on NetApp & Brocade products would be advantageous
-Thorough knowledge & experience of running & managing backup technologies & devices including:
-Setting up & running SAN based backup devices including multi drive tape libraries
-Backup software & backup/restore job creation (ideally HP Data Protector and Veritas Backup Exec)
